Born in Brooklyn, New York, American Abstract Sculptor Roy Gussow (1918 - 2011) graduated from the Institute of Design in Chicago with a degree in Industrial Design. He studied under Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and Alexander Archipenko, worked as an assistant to Archipenko at the Institute and at his Woodstock Summer School in 1946, and for many years created exemplary works of modern art in his studio in Queens, New York.

A friend and mentor of John Veltri’s for over 30 years, Gussow’s art and and creative ideas continue to provide inspiration and stimulate a deeper sensitivity to the natural world.
